You probably know the YouTube channel Pimps. They are friends Albi and Charlie, who are not afraid to step out of their comfort zone and try different challenges, visit unusual places and shoot videos that few would dare to do. In addition to shooting videos, Charlie is also involved in streetwear, collects various interesting pieces and this year he also launched his own clothing brand called fairytale. We asked Charlie how fairytale came to be and what his plans are with the brand.

Hi Charlie, in the summer you introduced your own streetwear brand fairytale. How long did you work on it to be able to fully launch everything?

"I started with the idea in January and I didn't finish it until August, that means about 7-8 months, with the fact that I started with 2-3 products first to test it. I had to make my own website, I worked on the logo for a very long time, and then the testing of the material and overall production took me those eight months before I started it completely."

Which piece from the collection is your favorite?

"These are cargo pants. From my point of view, no one makes better cargo pants in Czechoslovakia than me hahah, it's a bit egotistical, but according to the sales, I think it fits. Even the last collection, what I did, had a brutal promo, eight people worked on it, designer, photographer, video makers, models and so on. So I had a record number of people involved in the collection."

…

What are your next plans for the fairytale brand?

"Further plans with the fairytale brand are that I have moved the entire production to the Czech Republic, I have my own workshop and studio, where I now employ 2 designers who work for me. We now sew our own products, I buy my own materials, which are made directly for us. So the plan is to go our own way, employ young people to give them job opportunities and generally do everything our own way and grow and grow."

Who is your streetwear inspiration? Whose dressing style do you admire?

"There is probably no one whom I admire as an ultra. There are certain people who have done great things, for example Virgil Abloh, who was the chief designer for Louis Vuitton and founded the Off-White brand, he was a very inspiring person. I took his death quite hard because he was a great inspiration and I really value his work in general. This person inspired me to start making clothes. Otherwise, I look for inspiration in streetwear in old art and old dressing." It's the best for me. I don't look at trends, but I try to come up with something new that could be worn, and with that comes the new collection, which is a completely different concoction than what I've been doing so far."

…

Do you have a dream piece of streetwear that you would like to have at home?

"I don't have a complete dream piece of streetwear, but I mostly collect sneakers, and I'm quite a fan of that, I also make videos about it, right. And I already have a pretty decent collection for a few hundred thousand crowns hahah. So whenever I like a pair of sneakers, I just buy them. Of course, I also make videos about them, it's great that I have them and that I know something about it, but if I had a dream piece of streetwear, then that's it No. I like some coats from Louis Vuitton, but they are in the rocket range of 300,000-500,000 crowns, so I'm missing an Off-White from Virgil or UNC for sure buy when there is more money haha."

Which fulfills you more, making videos or doing business in the fashion sphere?

"For me, it goes hand in hand. I enjoy fashion, I enjoy doing business in general, I enjoy creating something from the ground up and I enjoy thinking about how to sell it to the customer, how to simply finish the details, I'm quite a perfectionist in various ways and I enjoy fighting with the competition. As for videos, I enjoy being creative and I enjoy making people laugh, I just enjoy being seen, and overall I can apply the numbers that I achieve through videos for business and that goes hand in hand for me and it's a great duo that complement each other. I just started shooting about rags and about sneakers and I also filled a hole in the market, so it's great and fulfills me both."

…

What do you want to say with your brand?

"With the brand, I would like to say that people should not be afraid to support a local brandy, and it is better to support a young artist or creative than to support fast fashion, whether it is hmko or anything else that sells cheaper, but it is of lower quality, it is seasonal stuff. I would also like to say that even if you are a young person, you can create a big thing, and I show it by making a video about the brand from the ground up, I will film the process of how the fairytale was created, where moves and let all the news motivate people."

“So the principle of this brand and how I approach it is to motivate young people not to be afraid to do business and create something of their own. And fairytale is a fairy tale and it says create your own fairy tale, create your own style of clothing, create it how you want to look and we will provide that.”

You see it in black and white. Charlie is just another proof that if you really want something and give it your all, you can create great things. If you are thinking about a new project, take this article as a sign that it is time to get started.
